Regia Bamboo Sock Yarn

I started a new pair of socks using Regia Bamboo Sock Yarn for the first time.  I'm knitting it on my beloved 2.5 mm Clover Bamboo DPNs and with 60 stitches.  I usually go for 64 stitches and 2.25 mm needles but I decided to do the 60 stitch and 2.5 mm combo with this yarn.  I love the feel of it and the colours.  It's nice and soft and I think I will enjoy the socks when they are done.  I'm working them in my basic plain vanilla sock pattern.

I'll give you a report on how the yarn wears once the pair is finished and I'm testing out the wearability of them.  For now, I'm thrilled.

I've been carrying this little sock project around in a tiny mini tote that I bought from an Etsy seller called raggedycats.  The totes are handpainted and if you're a cat lover, she's got a ton of different cat paintings.  I also have one of her coffee cats and I think her knitter's tote is quite cute, too.  As a fellow British Columbian I've had fun accumulating some cats.  Here's my little tote that I've been carrying my Bamboo sock in:

When I get a chance today, I'll also update my Vox Blog with more jewelry goodies and Etsy store additions.

Litttle Miss' Ruby is finally almost finished.  Just finish the last bits of the hood and put it all together.

Big Plans............

I had big plans for the Easter weekend and some of them came close to materializing.  I did focus on knitting the hood for Little Miss' Ruby and I got within about 3 or 4 inches of finishing.

Here is the body with the partially finished hood.  I hope to finish it all this weekend.  During the weekend I really hardly ever sit on the couch any more.  I just don't even sit down...............

Isn't it coming out nicely?  The sleeves are already knit so once I do get the hood finished, it's just a matter of putting it together.

I made some more things for my store.  I'm partially fond of these earrings and this bracelet.  I'll be updating my Vox Blog with all the new creations sometime soon.  Hopefully later today.  Come on over and visit if you'd like to see what's new in the jewelry and chainmaille department.  Most things have been listed though so you can always check out the store.

I've bought some great roving from a Canadian Etsy vendor, twistoffate.  As if I get the chance to add spinning to the list of things to do these days but I was attracted to the colours.  Go check her out.  She's got some nice hand dyed yarns, too and other goodies.

And here are some Easter pictures of the kiddos.  JR is now officially walking............ still crawling more than walking but he is quickly going from one or two tentative steps to crossing the room all the way as long as nothing comes in his path.

(the always snotty face - but such a cute smile)

(I love this shot - it's so Little Miss)

That's all for now.  I hope I can show a finished project soon.

Big Heads............

Children do have big heads...... I'm finding that out now that I've arrived at the last stage of knitting Ruby for the Little Miss.  Body is done, sleeves are done......... now, all that should be left is the finishing but oh yes, there's a big hood to knit in sock weight yarn.  Yikes. :-)  My goal is to have that finished this long Easter weekend.  This so called knitting blog needs some knitting pictures or it will go down, down, down..........

Another goal for the Easter weekend is to finally set in and sew in the zipper for Evan's Christmas present.  For goodness sakes, it was his Christmas present.  He once asked me about it a couple of weeks ago and I had to hang my head in shame.  If that gets accomplished, there will be even more knitting type pictures.

JR also needs some spring time things, such as maybe a new cardigan so I'll be starting something for him this weekend.  That's the plan anyways.  I'm thinking that I'll probably make this baby cardigan using the Kertzer Marble yarn I've had in my stash for a while.  It should be a quick knit.  Check out the link to the baby cardigan.  I also have the same yarn for something for LIttle Miss and I have a pattern to go with it but I'm getting to know my picky daughter and I don't think she'll wear it so I think I'll have to come up with something else for her like a cardigan.  Since it's a DK knit yarn, it shouldn't be difficult.  I'm thinking maybe a simple top down cardigan will do the trick.

Somewhere in there, I should find the time to finish some things for me, too and cast on for a new pair of socks.

I'm longing to knit some lovely lace but lace knitting just doesn't cut it these days.  I don't get the time to think about a more complicated pattern where I  have to pay attention and count and do all that.  My brain would like to do it and my fingers would love to get into some more lace knitting but realistically, when I do sit down to knit, I'm usually exhausted and ready to fall asleep so knitting is a mindless passtime right now.  I do really like this shawl pattern from Elann though - just in those colours.  I tried to see if I could get an affirmative response from my dear hubby like - oh, for a treat, just order it......... but I didn't get that kind of a response.  So I guess I'll keep thinking about it.  He's right.  Why should I order any more yarn?  I've got a huge stash as it is.

I wanted to show you some new jewelry because that is what I make more of these days.  I just can't get any pics uploaded right now.  I'll put some up on my Vox blog late and in the mean time, you can always visit Creations by Uli on Etsy to see what I've been up to in the jewelry design department.

Have a hippety, hoppety Easter.  I have a feeling I might not be back until after Easter, hopefully armed with some knitting pics.
