The Princess is 6!!!
Wow, what a whirlwind ride........... My little baby girl turned 6 this past week and look at the big girl she has become:

Isn't she turning into a lovely little young lady......... and oh, yes, such a ham - she loves the camera right now. This picture was taken at her birthday party at the local gymnastics club where she takes her regular gymnastics training. Hope you had a great birthday, cutie pie!!!!
And while I'm at it, happy blogaversary to me - 4 years have passed since September 18th, 2003 when I first found out about blogs and started my own. It's hard to believe. I'm a little sad right now because I've not been as active this year, I guess every since JR was born and my free time was getting less and less and I miss the interaction with my blog friends. I have the feeling that many have abandoned my boring posts for greener pastures as my knitting content certainly leaves to be desired these days. I hope that some of you are still hanging in, stopping by to visit and to see what we're all up to. But I'm working on it.
My most active current WIP is kind of boring. I'm working on a pair of black alpacca socks. I only say boring because a plain pair of black socks.......... I'm doing this for someone who I met on Etsy - she sent me the yarn and I'm knitting a pair of socks for her Mom for a Christmas gift. I hope her Mom will love them!!! Sock #1 is almost finished:

A simple waffle pattern breaks up the monotony of the black a little bit. I sound like I am not enjoying knitting them but I am........ the yarn is quite lovely although I must say the label was totally wrong. I'm on my first 50 g ball and will have enough for one sock. The yarn was labelled at a DK weight yardage for 50 g, not a fingering weight yardage. Ah well.... apparently i don't have to send the extra back so I have enough for another pair of black socks. :-)
I want to show you a few things that will be showing up in my Etsy shop this next week. I finally sat down and got back to working out my kinks with making some scarf/shawl pins. I've been wanting to make some for so long and I've had these great beads for quite a while.......... so here, I present, for the first time.... pin #1: (Note - it has been listed now - as well as the Halloween bracelet)
This one is quite a short pin. The end will be filed nice and blunt so it won't snag knitting. The bead in this one is a Kazuri bead - these beads are ceramic beads hand made in Africa. The wire and other beads are sterling silver. I am so pleased with how this pin turned out even though I had to play around with the beads I had and some I had thought of using didn't work because their holes weren't big enough for the heavier gauge wire I was using. I'd love to have some feedback - I will probably list it for sale at some point during the upcoming week.
And a few other tidbits that will be coming to the store in the next few days:

This "Boo" Halloween bracelet is stretchy. It has no closure. The orange rings are rubber rings and give the whole bracelet a whole bunch of stretch. I already have a few other bracelets like it in the store. This one just comes in great Halloween colours.
Lots of fun stuff.
And off I go........... I need to get ready for the week still!!!! Thanks so much for stopping by.
